Rhino Hobby Carbon Filter
A high quality Carbon Filter made with the finest Australian RC-412 Carbon providing premium filtration & odour control without breaking the bank.
The Rhino Hobby Carbon Filter is designed for the all growers. Boasting premium build quality without comprising on its expert quality. It’s made with prime virgin Australian RC-412 carbon, the most porous on the market. Its unique, fully reversible neck keeps it going strong for up to a year of solid growing.
Eliminates grow room odours
Growers use a carbon filter to remove bad smells from their environment. Plants can begin to smell as they grow and stagnant air builds up quickly in these humid conditions.
A decent carbon filter will absolutely remove these unwanted odours before they have a chance to leave your grow room. Activated carbon has an incredible ability to neutralise and destroy bad smells.
As air passes through a carbon filter, odour molecules become trapped in the its pores. This leaves smell molecules trapped, unable to get out and into your grow space - eliminating the odour completely.
Removes VOCs
Over time, any grow space can also begin to harvest volatile organic compounds (VOCs). VOCs are a nasty group of chemicals that can have serious adverse health effects if they are breathed in on a long-term basis.
You can sometimes smell VOCs from paints, air fresheners, petrol, or cigarette smoke - but they might be completely undetectable, even to the most well trained noses. VOCs are a serious hazard and can be present absolutely anywhere, but it’s particularly important to consider them in indoor, enclosed spaces like your grow room or any rooms that your grow tent vents out to.
The Rhino Hobby Filter is a perfect addition to any LED Grow Room ventilation system.
Uses premium RC-412 Australian carbon
The more pores a piece of carbon has, the more odour particles it can contain and trap. The Rhino Hobby filter is made only using the finest Australian RC-412 carbon - the purest and most porous on the market.
Australian Carbon is the best in the world. Each pore is at least 0.02 microns in size. While this may sound pretty tiny, it’s bloody impressive when it comes to air filtration and odour neutralisation!
“Vortex” base cone
Rhino filters are the only premium filters to boast an innovative “vortex” cone in their rugged base. This vortex creates a hurricane effect as air enters by spinning it evenly through the inside of the filter.
It’s a simple but genius addition to a carbon filter as it ensures that stale air is evenly circulated and 100% of odours are removed.
Fully reversible neck
Another genius innovation from Rhino is the Hobby’s reversible neck. This feature ensures that the 30mm carbon bed is fully used on both sides.
Other cheaper filters that don't include this feature would only use one side of the carbon bed, wasting 50% of your filters potential and wasting 50% of your money.
Simply reverse the Filters neck once every 8-12 weeks to use both sides of the carbon bed evenly & prolong the whole filter’s life. Genius.
Exceptional Quality, Premium Build
Working with fans up to 350m³/h, this is the ideal filter for a frugal grower. It’s best for small to medium spaces and comes at a lower price than its big brother, the Rhino Pro Carbon Filter.
However, it fails to compromise on quality. The Rhino Hobby is housed in a lightweight aluminium casing and has a 30mm carbon bed to filter out impurities.
Rhino is the best-selling air filtration brand for a reason! With a lifespan of up to 12 months, it’s a great investment piece for those looking to set up their first serious ventilation system.
How to use Rhino Hobby Filter?
You should choose the correct sized carbon filter to suit your extraction fan. If the filter is too small support your fan’s airflow, it will not remove odours as effectively. You should also ensure that your fan & filter are of the same diameter so that you can connect them together. You can get reducers or connectors but we find that these are unreliable and can often make your filter ineffective.
Only remove the plastic wrapping when you are ready to use. This will prolong the ife of your filter.
Always use the white fabric sock (included) over the Rhino Hobby before installing. This will help to ensure that dust is kept out of the outer mesh and will improve the filter’s longevity.
The Hobby fan is packaged with the duct-coupler screwed on the wrong way (this is to keep the packaging as small as possible). Before use, always unscrew the duct-coupler & replace it the other way round. The duct-coupler should sit firmly against the filter seal.
Hang your equipment using hanging ties, bungee cords, or jack chains.
