Method Seven Catalyst LED Camera Filter.

Because a purple photo of a green plant tells you absolutely nothing.

The Method Seven Catalyst LED is a clip-on camera filter for phones and tablets that colour corrects photos and video taken under magenta, red and pink spectrum LED grow lights. It uses Method Seven's LED lens, developed with the optical expertise of Carl Zeiss and made from the same material as its grow room eyewear, in a removable 37mm aluminium alloy screw mount on a heavy duty spring loaded clip that fits iPhone and Android devices and most protective cases.

The Problem With Purple.

Blurple LED lights are brilliant at growing plants and hopeless at showing you what those plants actually look like. Point a phone at a canopy under magenta light and you get a glowing purple blob. Is that leaf yellowing? Is that a pest? Is that a smudge on the lens? Nobody knows.

Your phone tries its best with automatic white balance, but it was designed for sunsets and birthday parties, not a spectrum built for photosynthesis. The result is mush.

Proper Optics In Your Pocket.

Method Seven's founder used to hold his grow glasses over his iPhone to get a decent picture, and once taped a lump of raw lens material to his camera. The Catalyst is the grown up version of that idea. Method Seven says the LED version was the first mobile device filter made specifically for magenta, pink and red spectrum LED lights.

The lens is not cheap dyed plastic. It is made from aircraft grade, high temperature injected polymer, the same optical material Method Seven uses in its eyewear, so colours come through balanced and the image stays sharp.

Clip On, Shoot, Done.

The heavy duty spring loaded clip grips the edge of your phone or tablet and holds the filter over the camera, and it fits over most protective cases. It is small enough to live in a pocket. The filter itself sits in a 37mm aluminium alloy screw ring, which can be removed and adapted for security cameras too.

Important.

This is the LED version, for magenta, red or pink spectrum LED lights. It is not designed for full spectrum or white LED lights.
