Stop Guessing. Start Measuring.

There's an old saying in growing:

You can't manage what you can't measure.

And while that sounds like something a bloke in a fleece might say at a horticultural conference, it's actually rather true.

The Mars Hydro Smart Sensor Kit gives your indoor garden the ability to see what's actually happening.

Not what you think is happening.

Not what the thermometer on the wall says is happening.

What's actually happening.

With dedicated sensors for PPFD, CO₂ and soil conditions, the system can monitor some of the most important variables affecting plant growth and feed that information directly into the Mars Hydro smart ecosystem.

Suddenly your grow room isn't just full of equipment.

It's collecting data.

And once you've got the data, you can start doing some seriously clever things with it.

Three Sensors. A Whole Lot More Information.

The kit contains three specialist sensors, each designed to monitor a different part of your growing environment.

PPFD Sensor | Know How Much Light Your Plants Are Actually Getting

Your LED Grow Light might be rated at 480W, 600W or whatever impressive number the manufacturer has printed on the box.

But wattage isn't what your plants see.

They see photons.

The Mars Hydro PPFD Sensor measures the amount of photosynthetic light reaching your canopy in real time, allowing you to see exactly what's happening at plant level.

And when connected to compatible Mars Hydro smart controls, PPFD data can be used as part of an automated lighting strategy, allowing the system to adjust light output towards your chosen target.

CO₂ Sensor | Give Your Plants What They Need.

CO₂ is fundamental to photosynthesis, but knowing what's actually happening inside a grow tent can be surprisingly difficult.

The Mars Hydro CO₂ Sensor provides real-time monitoring of CO₂ levels inside your growing environment.

When integrated with the Mars Hydro smart control system, CO₂ information can be used to help automate environmental management and coordinate compatible equipment around your chosen parameters.

Instead of treating CO₂ like a set-and-forget number, you can actually see what's happening.

And if you're running a properly controlled indoor environment, that's a rather useful thing to know.

Soil Sensor | See What's Happening Below the Surface.

This is where things get particularly interesting.

The Mars Hydro Smart Soil Sensor monitors three key parameters around the root zone:

Moisture. Temperature. EC.

So rather than judging whether your plants need water by poking a finger into the top of the pot, you've got actual data from the growing medium.

The soil sensor can help identify conditions that could otherwise be easy to miss, including excessive moisture, changing root-zone temperatures and variations in electrical conductivity.

And when combined with the Mars Hydro iHub Pro, drip irrigation system and MarsPro App, this information can be used to trigger automated watering based on your chosen soil conditions.

That's not just automatic watering.

That's data-triggered irrigation.

Connect them to the Mars Hydro iHub Pro or iControl Controller, however, and you've suddenly got the foundations of a genuinely automated irrigation system.

The sensors continuously feed data into the Mars Hydro smart ecosystem.

You can then use the MarsPro App to establish your preferred moisture thresholds and watering strategies.

When the soil reaches your chosen conditions, the system can trigger the connected irrigation equipment.

Water when it's needed.

Stop when it isn't.

No unnecessary watering.

No relying on a timer to decide whether your plants are thirsty.

And no returning from a weekend away to discover your plants have apparently been practising survival techniques.

Your Grow Room Can Finally Think For Itself.

This is where the Mars Hydro Smart Sensor Kit really earns its keep.

On their own, the sensors provide useful information.

Connect them to a compatible Mars Hydro iControl Controller or iHub Pro, and that information can become part of an automated growing strategy.

You can build strategies around things like:

  • PPFD
  • CO₂
  • Temperature
  • Humidity
  • Soil moisture
  • EC
  • Lighting schedules
  • Irrigation

The MarsPro App puts the information and control at your fingertips.

And rather than constantly checking meters, adjusting dials and wandering into the grow room every five minutes like some sort of botanical security guard, the system can respond automatically to changing conditions.

That's the beauty of smart growing.

The technology does the boring bit.

PPFD Control. Now We're Talking.

One of the cleverest features of the Mars Hydro smart ecosystem is the ability to use PPFD data as part of your lighting strategy.

Instead of simply telling your LED Grow Light:

"Run at 80%."

You can work towards a target PPFD.

The system monitors the light reaching the canopy and can adjust compatible Mars Hydro lighting to maintain the desired level.

This is particularly useful as plants grow.

The canopy changes.

Plant height changes.

Your lighting position changes.

The amount of light reaching different areas can change.

The sensor gives the system actual information rather than forcing it to rely on assumptions.

It's basically giving your LED Grow Light a pair of eyes.

A Root-Zone Detective.

The soil sensor deserves another mention because it's one of those things you don't necessarily appreciate until you've used one.

The top of your growing medium might look dry while there's still plenty of moisture underneath.

Or the surface might look fine while the root zone is becoming excessively wet.

The Mars Hydro soil sensor gives you information from where it actually matters: around the roots.

And because it also monitors temperature and EC, you've got a much more complete picture of what's happening beneath the canopy.

Combine that with the Mars Hydro drip irrigation system and iHub Pro and you've got a watering system that can respond to actual conditions rather than simply following a timer.

Your plants get water when they need it.

Not because the clock says 10am.

Designed For The Mars Hydro Smart Ecosystem.

The Smart Sensor Kit is part of a much bigger ecosystem.

Mars Hydro's smart platform can bring together compatible LED Grow Lights, inline fans, clip fans, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, irrigation systems and sensors under centralised control.

The iHub Pro, for example, provides 10 smart outlets for connecting and controlling essential grow equipment, while the smart sensors provide the environmental information needed for more advanced automation.

So you can start small.

Add a sensor kit.

Then perhaps an iHub Pro.

Then smart irrigation.

Then automated ventilation.

Before long, you've built yourself a grow room that is considerably more intelligent than the average kitchen appliance.

And probably more useful too.

The Future Of Indoor Growing Is Data-Driven.

The days of simply switching on a light, setting a timer and hoping for the best are rapidly disappearing.

Modern LED Grow Lights are becoming more efficient.

Ventilation is becoming smarter.

Irrigation is becoming automated.

And now your grow room can actually measure what's happening inside it.

The Mars Hydro Smart Sensor Kit provides the data needed to take advantage of that technology.

PPFD.

CO₂.

Soil moisture.

Soil temperature.

EC.

All monitored through one connected smart growing ecosystem.

It's the difference between growing indoors and engineering an indoor growing environment.

Your Plants Can't Text You. So Give Them Sensors.

Let's face it.

Your plants are terrible communicators.

They won't send you a WhatsApp saying:

"Mate, soil's getting a bit wet down here."

They won't email you when the CO₂ drops.

And they certainly won't tell you that the light intensity at the canopy isn't quite where you'd like it.

The Mars Hydro Smart Sensor Kit does the next best thing.

It measures.

It reports.

And, when connected to the appropriate Mars Hydro smart hardware, it can help your system respond automatically.

Less guesswork.

Less manual intervention.

More information.

More control.

And ultimately, a much more consistent growing environment.

That's smart growing done properly.
