Mars Hydro TS1000 LED Grow Light Review

The recently updated Mars Hydro TS1000 is an affordable, dimmable full spectrum LED Grow Light with a simple, easy to use design and minimal components. The cost-efficient design offers growers incredible LED Grow Light at an affordable price.

I'd recommend the TS1000 to cover a small tent or an area of around 2 feet x 2 feet. In a standard 4’ x 4’ grow tent you could run up to 4 of these LED Grow Lights together with good results.

One of the advantages of smaller lights like this is that you can start with one or two - and add additional lights when your budget permits for a build as you grow strategy.

Perfect for small spaces, the TS1000 has an ideal flowering distance of about 16 to 18 inches above the canopy. We noted a PPF of 242.1 µmol and a power use of 147 watts from the wall. Not bad at all.

In that test, the Usable Photon Efficiency was 1.65 µmol/w which is very good indeed. However, the maximum PPFD in that test was below 1000 so we could have hung the fixture a little lower and recorded an even higher Usable PPF and photon efficiency.

Either way, this is a very impressive photon efficiency for a light in this price range. It is one of the most cost-efficient LED Grow Light options that exist. Our harvest expectations for one of these lights is about 133-182 grams or 4.8-6.5 ounces.
